“John Rocha did something last season that he hadn’t done for a long time - he explored color, and by explore we mean he dived headfirst into and revelled in a pool of paintbox hues.

Salmon pink, grassy green and sunshine yellow made for arresting viewing, as did a shot of scarlet, seen on a cap-sleeve dress crafted from boiled wool. That’s not to say he did not go back to black, he did a lot, but we expect this from the season and it was balanced well both in cut and color.

We knew there was more than just one season’s life in those summer silhouettes and hues we saw in September – how wonderful we can now wear them during winter too.”

REEM ACRA FALL/WINTER 2013

Reem Acra never fails to unveil red carpet-worthy dresses season after season. With the Oscars and several other awards shows just weeks away I would not be surprised to see these gowns making their moment.

A recent trip to Japan is what inspired Reem to do the intricate embroidery.. She also placed a fishnet-like liner over several dresses to give it an amazing contrast. Normally, this would should like a horribly combination, but Reems craftsmanship is unparalleled.
